The Service has technology and human resources in keeping with the highest current requirements of precision and quality control along with a medical experience of more than 3000 trated patients in the past 15 years, with 3-Dimensional Conformal Radiotherapy (3D-CRT), stereotaxic and Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) techniques.

Maintains an institutional policy based on the upgrade and ongoing renewal of its equipment and the continuing training of its professionals. The result of this effort is to count, assembled in a single department of oncology radiation, on all the equipment and activities of the specialty. From imaging by computed tomography and simulation, until treatment in three digital high-energy accelerators, through planning computed systems 2D, 3D and IMRT, placement frameworks to stereotaxic radiosurgery and high complexity surgery with intraoperation radiotherapy in its own surgical center, until automated calibration and dosimetry systems 2D and 3D, the calculation, design and manufacturing in the department of conformers and metallic intensity modulators and a comprehensive quality control equipment.

Installed in a building with advanced architecture, and headed by a selected team of radiotherapists, physicists, dosimetrist and technologists, the radiotherapy department of the Alexander Fleming Institute well consolidates its status as a leader in radiotherapy of cancer in our country.
